My latest eHow article - how to make a raised copper plant stand, is live!
Be sure to stop by and check it out! It's SUPER easy!
And a quick #dorseyreno update! We were planning on installing cork flooring in the closet, but at the last minute, I changed my mind and decided to run the hardwood in. Since we bought the house, I was always planning on replacing the carpet with cork flooring - the room was closed off (two small bifold doors) so the cork was an easy improvement. Once we opened up the door to one larger opening - the closet looked like an extension of the room, instead of a separate space, so I really wanted to keep that sight line open.
We were considering putting a threshold down and starting over in the closet, but having the seamless line will look better in the end (even though it's more work). The wood is a little lighter, so we'll be applying a small amount of stain so that it matches fairly well.
SO moral of the story, stop and examine your design decisions as you go, don't just assume that your original idea will work :) Good thing we are planning cork flooring in the basement, so we can use what we purchased there!
